Houston has a problem......
Well it has been way too long since I last posted but boy has alot been happening. Westalee rulers came along and we had a workshop doing the double wedding ring and the dresden plate.
Very clever I must say.
The photo is a picture of a gorgeous range of fabric called Modern Meadows by Denyse Schmidt. Other fabrics to have arrived were Sweet Emelie by Jo Morton, Independence Trail from Moda and Alice Putnam from Wyndham.
Arriving very soon are ranges called Pomegranate and Leesberg.
I recently went to a workshop by Karen Cunningham. Highly recommended. Even though I have been sewing for over 20 years I find there is always something to be learned from others.
Speaking of learning I am off to Houston in 2 days time. How exciting. I'm sure I will have lots to share when I return. Until then keep sewing and I will post some news as soon as I can.
Ps Cootamundra is hosting a quilt exhibition on Sat 10th and Sun 11th November. If you are in the area come along for some inspiration then call in to the shop and say hello as I will be open both days.

Photo Fixed
I managed to fix the photo of Karen with her quilt. I had to rotate the photo on my camera and then reload it into my photo folder on the computer.
Here is a fabric range that recently arrived. It is called "Christmastime" by Anni Downs. There is a cute wallhanging in the current Homespun magazine using these fabrics. What I think is particularly nice about this range is that these fabrics (especially the checks) can be used in any project and not just Christmas things.
And here are some of the "Bonnie Blues" that arrived around the same time. I am thinking little stars maybe... stay tuned.

Show and Tell
And here is Karen from the Thursday class with her stunning lone star quilt made using fabrics from the French General range Le Petit Ecole. Sorry the image is sideways but attempts to fix it have failed any tips on how to fix would be appreciated.
Yarn galore
Recently a heap of scarf yarns have arrived in store. These are sooo easy to knit and look really nice. I have also included a photo of my resident model Betsy showing off the "Ribbons" yarn.
Show and Tell
Here is another of Anne's that she made using the fabrics called "Papparrazi" by Red Rooster. These fabrics are vanishing fast as they make the most stunning quilts. Another class member is using these to make Monica Poole's "Sweet and Sassy" design.

Kaffe Fassett
Here is a photo of a quilt made by Anne in my Friday class. Clever girl she is as she designs her owns quilts out of her head. She has used Kaffe Fassett fabrics from the shop. More Kaffe's have arrived in the last few days with some more on their way. I will post a photo of them soon.

Progress!
For the past 2 years (and a bit) I have been making a quilt called Irish Circles by Karen Cunningham. Well I am feeling a little bit excited as I have now managed to complete all of the inside blocks. All I have to do now is the borders. One border is appliqued and the other is pieced. I am hoping it is not going to take me another 2 years to finish them...... Here is a sneak peak at some of my blocks. I will post another photo once I have them sewn up together.
